Alyse's Young Women's Camp 2014

In June, Alyse went to Young Women's Camp, a church camp for 12-18 year old girls.  Alyse isn't 12 just yet, but because she is going to be in 7th grade this year, she was able to go so she can get her 6 years of camp in.  I can't believe she is big enough!!!  She started off a little nervous in the parking lot at 6:45 a.m. but had a wonderful time.  They camped at Walker's cabin/campground up past Cambridge where we have stayed a few times before.  The girls were dropped off at the road and walked 5 miles ate lunch, rode a little ways and then walked the last mile in.  So they began camp with the hike completed.

We missed her at home so much.  Lexi cried at least once a day, missing her Alyse.  We were so excited to pick Alyse up and hear all about it and see some pictures.  When I asked her her 3 favorite things she replied, "1.  food   2.  playing in the creek  3.  crafts."  She had great stories to tell too about some camp pranks.  Alyse said there was way too much candy up there and brought home her stash too share with her sisters. She had a great time!  She was exhausted and sleep deprived but she came home to a busy day at home getting ready for Layla's lemonade stand and then went irrigating that evening with Bompi.  When she finally got to go to bed, she slept like a rock till 10 a.m.

This isn't a real temple, but was built up on the hill and illuminated each night.  I am thankful for the great friends Alyse has and for leaders who go above and beyond to make it a wonderful and spiritual time!
