Family Reunion 2014- Day 3 and 4

Day 3

Saturday morning we were up and off to explore.  Before that I had a memorable ice cold shower with lots of laughs to say the least.  Thanks Kristey for guarding the men's bathroom door since the shower in the women's wasn't working for us anyways!  But a shower and make up makes all the difference even when camping :)

First off we went to the Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument Museum and exhibit on the Japanese Internment camps (very interesting).  Then enjoyed some ice cream at a church social.

 Then was the National and State Fish Hatcheries.  Most of the fish had been released at both, but we explored anyways and petted huge white sturgeons.  In the green baby fish tanks, we waved our hands above and "herded" the fish around with the shadows of our hands.

and the closest we got too a group picture- missing Scott, Kristey, and Stacy who were behind cameras and Jasson, Jen, and Jasmine back at camp.

We ate lunch back at camp and then went to Ritter Island, my favorite outing, where we hiked to a water fall and swam in really cold water.  Grammy stayed at camp with Audrey which made it much easier!  They played, walked, and napped.  

We walked to the water falls and then climbed up rocks to get closer.  Water falls are BEAUTIFUL!

I had flip flops on and Alyse had tennis shoes.  Alyse didn't like climbing the rocks and so we stayed back with Landon.  Then as everyone was coming back down, I was disappointed I didn't get to go up... then I realized I could switch Alyse shoes and go.  The good thing about having an 11 year old who wears almost the same size.  So I got me some hot pink tennis shoes and went up.  So awesome and romantic :)

We explored a cave on the way back, well we watched Amanda and Mariah explore a cave actually.  

Back at camp we watched Audrey and Landon wade in the little pool and poor water on each other's heads.  My nephew Jasson apparently has a death wish trying to cut my pony off, and my not so happy camper Audrey anxious for the stroller to move.  Aunt Stacy took Audrey for lots of walks to keep Audrey safe and Stacy got her 20,000 daily steps in!

Mike and team made us some awesome steak fajitas and we stayed up till the wee hours of the morning around the camp fire.

Day 4

Camp was packed early and we were off like a herd of turtles.  Some headed home and some of us went on to Shoshone Falls and Dierke Lake.

Water levels were low but the falls were still beautiful.  (early in the year on a a good water year the water falls span this width).

  Swim suits had been packed and loaded and we were ready to head home, but we stopped by Dierke Lake just to take a peak and get our feet wet.  Well, 2 hours later and sopping wet, we left for home!

Kristey splashed Scott then he put her in the water and 6 kids splashed her.  Kristey threw Scott's shoe in the deeper part but some lady got it for Scott so she threw his other shoe further out.  It was actually mine that time, but all the same, Scott would have to retrieve it.  Some man was willing to get it as Scott asked nicely but Kristey said no he couldn't get it for him.  The poor torn man eventually swam away, but lucky for Scott, Amanda came in with the shoe and Scott didn't have to get completely wet.    It was funny though!

Scott drove the rest of us napping bunch home.  We unloaded like a hive of bees, showered, and went to dinner and FHE at Scott's parents house which spared us from left over sandwiches!

It was such a blast, lots of good times, and even my little ones stayed safe :)  Thanks to Bob and Julie for arranging and for everyone who helped Audrey and Landon stay safe at camp!
