Utah Day Trip

We survived the move to Pocatello!  It was a little crazy... well, a whole lot crazy!  But, we live to tell about it, another day will I share that grand story.   I'm rather tired of living life revolving around moving because so much of our summer has; so for today, it's our Utah adventures!  We now live close enough to go to Utah in a day trip and that we did TODAY!   Scott's lab class was canceled and so we all loaded up with him this morning, dropped him off at his class and the kids and I roamed around campus.  Six kids and I (all in Sunday church clothes) just blended in on campus-hah!  Anyways, after Scott's class we headed for Ogden, Utah to the LDS Temple open house.  Over the last three years, they completely rebuilt the temple.  It was beautiful and wonderful to be there with all six kids!  As a kid, I went through the Boise Temple open house at age 3.  I only remember the shoe covers and mauve colored carpet.  Our kids have had the opportunity to go to 3 temple open houses.  It's so exciting to feel the exponential growth of the church and number of temples!  The family of rowdy boys behind us through the temple tour took away from the reverence, but I hope the kids could still feel the difference inside the temple from the rest of the world.

After that, we headed to Hill Air Force Base Air Museum

Landon was pretty excited to see all the air planes and helicopters!  We all enjoyed the exhibits and Scott sharing his knowledge on it made it extra awesome.

We forgot the stroller at home- and forgot to stop and buy one before we got to the museum.  Audrey was something to chase.  I feared to look away and then find Audrey in a cock pit or something :)  She did inch her way on her tummy at one point, but otherwise, she roamed at her turbo speed.

This is what Scott spent 6 years working on at Ellsworth AFB.  Brings back lots of memories.  We would all love to see one fly again and hear it take off with its afterburners on :)

The museum closes at 4:30 so we couldn't spend all the time we would have liked there.  We headed up to Logan, Utah to explore.  We found a great park for a picnic diner and the kids enjoyed a fun playground then we walked around the Logan Temple grounds.

I love to see the temple, 

I'm going there someday.

 To feel the Holy Spirit, 

To listen and to pray.  

For the Temple is a house of God, 

A place of love and beauty.

I'll prepare myself while I am young;

As a child of God, I've learned this truth:

A family is forever!

I am so thankful for my forever family and the great blessings of temples!  It was a beautiful family day :)
