broken

We had quite the stretch of broken things...
the steam mop, the vacuum, my wedding ring, the SD card with my fall pictures, 2 bathroom sinks, the water heater in our Colorado house which flooded the basement, and probably more things that I don't remember at the moment.  I then forbade anything else to break around here!  The next day... Lexi broke her arm!

She was rollerblading in the drive way, which goes down hill, fell and caught herself on her hand.  She shed a few tears, was loved better by her sisters, and then came in to tell me the story.  She didn't seem in much pain and didn't make it sound like it was too traumatic either, but I did notice some swelling in her wrist.  She could mover everything find so I put her on the couch with an ice pack and told her not too move it much.  We iced & elevated it for two days, the swelling stayed the same, it hurt most to twist her wrist and she couldn't bend it all the way down.  We headed in for x-rays and sure enough- the radius was fractured just below the wrist.  It wasn't displaced so the doc gave us a choice of cast or splint, with the promise of keeping it on.  We chose the splint which could be removed only for showers (and was easier to itch underneath).   She still played violin and wrote a little sloppy, but got out of dish duty and a few other chores for 6 weeks! The swelling and then the bruising finally went away with an extra wrap around the splint.  She got to take her splint off on Christmas day!  Seems to be as good as new :)
