The Museum of Nature and Science/Scott's birthday

We spent Scott's birthday (and Noni's last day with us) at Denver's Museum of Nature and Science.  It was awesome!  We went planning to pay $58 for admission, but when we got there, we found out it's free for military and their families!  That rocks- because we could (and will) spend many more days there!  In the 7 hours we were there, we only saw the space wing, gems and stones, human health, mummies, and Colorado nature- and there is tons more!
In the human health expo, you are given cards and every activty that you do is recorded onto your card and then you get a print out at the end.
This is Scott and I's brain activity- the object of it was to relax and clear your mind (going for the lowest brain activity), can you guess who won?
Scott did (player 2)!  Males can clear their mind much easier than females- if I'm sitting still- I can't help but think about what my kids are doing, what I'll make for dinner, or notice the cute shoes on the women over there, etc. etc. etc.  (you know- 50 compartments of the brain open at the same time), where as a male can think about exactly the task at hand...

My scientists
our lab expirement was to separate DNA strands from wheat germ
we also made a slide of the epitheal cells inside our cheeks and looked at them in a microscope, and tested cereals to find out which one had the most sugar.  It was very fun!

and my littlest scientist who was very cute in her lab garb, but threw a fit and was named "the mad scientist" by the workers.  Thumbs up for science!
a real mummy- gross!

and Colorado nature exhibits
Happy Birthday honey!

even though we always tease him that he'll get left over cake from Layla and Lexi's birthdays, he did get his own cake- even if it was a store bought!

We had a wonderful time with Noni and can't wait for her next visit!
