Isn't there just something appealing about seeing carrots with the green on top!! and to see the little girl who planted and picked it!

Scott's red corn! As it cooks the corn becomes more yellow and the water becomes red! It was good, but the left over corn didn't look so good.
so fun to find treasures like this!
Scott's pepper patch and the corn- Scott says he likes to grow corn and pumpkins because you can see growth everyday- and so much of it!

and last, but not least, the pumkin patch- which used to be Strawberry Mountain!
There ARE about 20 strawberry plants in the middle of the mountain. Scott and I had this great idea to plant a pumpkins on the ends since there was so much empty space in there this year as we waited for our strawberries to spread. Well, 3 seeds later.....
the vines extend a long way on both sides, up the fence, out the gate.... and about 7 big ones!
they were slow to start and then the leaves got plastered by the 4th of July hail storm (the leaves looked like swiss cheese) and we weren't sure they were going to make it all, and then they grew, and grew, and grew right before our eyes!!!!
It been very fun and rewarding! We have definately learned a lot, and next years garden will be better!
