Scott's off for 2 weeks! We enjoyed Wednesday at home together and then Thursday morning I got the idea of going camping. We voted unanimously, packed, and left by noon. We stayed at Colter Bay in The Grand Teton National Park on Jackson Lake in Wyoming! It was beautiful. The whole drive there through Swan Valley and Victor, Idaho and up through Jackson Hole was beautiful too.
After setting up camp, we walked down to the lake to see and just "get our feet wet," but Layla and Audrey were soaked in just minutes, the rest of us went back for our swimsuits.
We liked this little shallow inlet of water to play in and catch little fishes in our hands (there were tons of them!).
Jackson Lake is one of the "warmer" of the Teton Lakes, but my no means warm! I don't think I could take much colder!
After dinner we went to the marina to explore and take a walk to the end of the peninsula.
Just "getting our feet wet" again (and a little more, ahem!)
and throwing rocks in the water.
We threw handfuls of rocks in a round to hear the weird "flutter" sound they made when they hit.

Friday after breakfast we went for a hike to Swan Lake and Heron Pond. It was beautiful and we saw....
these cute little dear,
a red tailed hawk, a chipmunk, and ...
tons of wild flowers, and....
ducks, Canadian Geese, spider webs (ewww!), pond lilies, and more wild flowers!
(we also saw a mouse, a few squirrels, lots of birdies, and Alyse and Layla even saw a fox, and fortunately, no bears!)
Audrey got packed the whole way!
(She fell asleep on the way back and it was tough carrying her sound asleep 32 pounds.)

It is practically covered in pond lilies with beautiful yellow flowers.
We made it to Heron Pond!
It had almost as many pond lilies as Swan Lake and had the beautiful view of the Tetons behind it.
We swam all afternoon, had dinner, went back to the lake to throw rocks then...

We heart camping!
[Other than two flat air mattresses, Landon throwing up in the night, my allergies, and a jar of canola oil getting spilled in the kitchen box, we love camping!]
