Having everyone home on Monday we decided on a trip to the zoo. Thankfully, it's been a very mild winter here in the Springs! It went back and forth between beautiful and chilly and it felt so good to be outside.
The Giraffes
(They were working on the outside giraffe exhibit so they had them all inside. After we got over the horrible stink, we enjoyed feeding them)

While Scott took Alyse, Lexi, and Alaina on the sky ride, Layla and I hung out in the ape house. Layla took particularly to this guy who gave her lots of high fives and tricks. He like to put his bucket on his head, play with his ball, tear up newspapers, and snuggle in his pink blanket.
The bears gave us a great show too. We sat and ate our snacks while we watched them swim and play ball. I like the zoo in the winter when there all less crowds and the animals are a lot more active than in the summer heat!
