Basketball: Fall Season 2010

GO #5!!!
Fall Season went from Oct 25-Dec 18, so this is late, but I couldn't skip it.  This was Alyse and Lexi's first season and a huge learning experience!   Lexi was a head taller than any of her team mates, who were mostly boys.  She really liked playing and really loved the social time!  Her and her friend Cameron could carry on full conversations thoughout a game.  For her games, the coaches were allowed on the court to help them know what to do.  All the games were friendly and fun watching- watching 5&6 year olds is a million times better than watching any professional team!

Alyse really loved playing!  Alyse's games were intense.  (too intense for the age group if you ask me!)  Her coach used to play for Utah Jazz and really emphasized skill development, but she had 5th graders on her 3rd and 4th grade team, which got more game time.  (not a fair situation!)   Her last game was rather interesting, to say the least.  The other team really played nasty, the ref threatened to end the game several times, but ended up pulling a few of their players out of the game.  Coach D got a little worked up, but he was a good advocate for his team.   Scott was working and I was so sick through this game to make it even more interesting!  But overall she had a great season and made lots of progress.

Layla's usual face through each and every game- let's just say that watching basketball is not her thing!

The girls had practice different nights of the week and their games got scheduled for different YMCA's, which made it really hard or impossible when game times overlapped and Scott was working!  It was a lot of time and effort, but I so loved watching them play!  So much that we are in for winter season starting next week.  We switched to a different Y and Alaina will be playing too!  There is nothing better to do on Saturdays than go to baskeball all day, right?!
