address #12

May 27
We loaded the UHaul (thank you Rapid City 3rd ward elders quorum!)

May 28
We made it to Colorado Springs!

Our 17th and last night in a motel

May 29
We checked out of the motel, bought a ton of groceries (no cold stuff- no fridge yet) ant then

at 1:30 find out that the 2:00 p.m. closing isn't going to happen today (thanks to the VA!), but we did get preoccupancy in the house, but we were not allowed to move stuff in.

Cleaned, cloroxed, and pulled 2 million weeds, and slept yet again, on an air matteress.

June 1
Lexi turns 5!

We had a morning party because we didn't know how the afternoon would turn out.

(the house again, didn't close, but at 3 p.m. we got word the loan was finalized and it was OK to move stuff into the house, at 3:01, we started unloading the Uhaul)

June 2
the house finally closed
HooRah!

June 3
Scott turns 28 and Home Depot delivers the fridge
I teased Scott the fridge was his present, but we did get him fishing stuff too.

The girls got a package from Aunt Stacy with these adorable skirts she made, don't notice the boxes or the uncoopertive girls, just the skirts :)June 8
Alyse shows us her wiggly teeth!June 9
Scott and a dead tree he pulled out

Me and my dead tree, I pulled out
(yah, bad picture, but I had to keep up with Scott)

The girls play tea party with Tensley
(Sarah and her SIL stayed a few days with us while they house hunted, so much fun!)

June 12
Alyse finally loses one of the teeth, they have been very very loose for ever!June 13
We have fire to roast hot dogs and marshmellows.

We had to use up some of the fire wood we have accumulated after Scott and I have pulled out and chopped up about 20 trees out of our back yard.June 13
Alyse loses the second tooth! What a window!

and the tooth fairy comes the second night in a row! June 15
Scott goes back to work
and we struggle to remember what normal life is like
(it has been over a year since we have had a normal life)
and not pictured is all the unpacking, organizing, weed pulling, painting Lexi's room, and having delivery apts, internet & phone hookup apts, security system apts, etc. It's been a crazy few weeks!

Congrats on a house. I bet its nice to have a permanent residence! We are currently looking for houses too. Hopefully we can find something and take advantage of the 8000 back! Have fun decorating and landscaping!

It is great to hear that you are in your house and things are going to finally start becoming normal.
We can't wait to see your family again, hopefully we don't have to wait too long.

WOW, congrats on the new home, new life, new city, new job, new lost teeth, new backyard, new so much new stuff! How fun. Hopefully the feeling of "normal life" will come quickly and speedily--if it ever really exists, hahaha. :)
Congrats!
